Seven magical days of book-filled fun for schools
This year’s RBS Schools Programme is bursting with inspiring and entertaining events for school children of all ages.
From 20 August we’ll be welcoming some of the finest children’s writers and illustrators to Charlotte Square Gardens including bestsellers and award-winners such as Theresa Breslin, Vivian French and Catherine Rayner.
We’ll also be joined by a stunning line up of international talent including Australia’s acclaimed Shaun Tan, Garth Nix and Margo Lanagan, African author and storyteller Atinuke and French illustrator Barroux.
New for 2012 we have a selection of events for reluctant readers and children with specific reading requirements, plus a strand of reading workshops for senior English and Drama students led by contemporary writers including Rosie Rushton and Keith Gray. We also have some exciting events in Gaelic and Scots to celebrate our national dialects and language.
Once again our Continuing Professional Development events provide an opportunity for adults working in the field of education to explore innovative new ways to integrate books and literature into the classroom.
From maths to mystery, poetry to history, our RBS Schools Programme has every corner of the curriculum covered. Tickets go on sale on Monday 23 April. Full details of what’s in store and how to book can be found in the brochure which you can download from our website, or email mailinglist@edbookfest.co.uk to request a copy in the post.
