Around the world after dark with Jura Unbound
This year’s Jura Unbound line-up promises to take audiences on a late night voyage of discovery from the cosy confines of the Spiegeltent in Charlotte Square Gardens.
The free evening events will feature an eclectic cast of authors, poets, musicians and performers who will entertain, surprise and scandalise with their stories and antics from around the world.
The programme gets underway on Sunday 16 August with Trading Stories, a night of seductive international short tales from Denmark, Ireland and the USA with authors Dorthe Nors, Mary Costello, Molly Antopol and David Gates.
On Wednesday 19 August Head North with Highlight Arts for an arctic adventure featuring Ragnar Jónasson, Jessie Kleemann, Niillas Holmberg and more.
Thursday 20 August sees legend of children’s literature Julia Donaldson take to the stage with her partner Malcolm to relive their busking days with folk tales and an interactive game or two of A Squash and A Squeeze.
The Skinny magazine will celebrate their tenth anniversary when award-winning novelist Sean Michaels hosts a night of multidisciplinary madness featuring live readings and theremins on Sunday 23 August.
Sample A Little Slice of Italy on Monday 24 August when authors Dan Gunn and Massimo Bocchiola join Italian folk troop The Badwills.
Publisher No Brow share their 17x23 project on Saturday 29 August. Graphic novelists William Exley, Andy Poyiadgi and Joe Sparrow lead an interactive evening that’s Stripped but not Bound.

Jura Unbound evenings are free and unticketed and take place every evening from 16–31 August from 9pm to 11.00pm in the Spiegeltent in Charlotte Square Gardens. (Please note: Jura Unbound on Monday 31 August will start at 10.15pm).
