Peter Buwalda
Peter Buwalda worked as a journalist and editor before writing his first novel, Bonita Avenue.
He was co-founder of Wah-Wah, a Dutch literary music magazine and wrote short stories and essays for a variety of publications including Bunker Hill. His debut tells the story of Siem Sigerius, a successful and popular university chancellor who is next in line for post of minister of education. However, when Siem’s son is released from prison after serving a sentence for murder, his family is sucked into a scandal that threatens to ruin everything that he has worked for.
Bonita Avenue is a strikingly assured debut from a fresh and original author who has been hailed as a literary star in the making.
