Loujain Alhathloul
Loujain Alhathloul is a researcher and women’s rights activist from Saudi Arabia.
In October 2013, she decided to challenge the ban on women driving, resulting in a 73-day detainment and she has subsequently been arrested and released several more times both for defying the driving ban and, in 2018, for ‘attempting to destabilise the kingdom’.
Loujain was ranked 3rd in the list of the Top 100 Most Powerful Arab Women in 2015 and continues to advocate and educate women on their rights.
