Brian Conaghan
Brian Conaghan was born and raised in the Scottish town of Coatbridge but currently lives in Dublin.
Before becoming a full-time writer, Brian worked as a secondary school English and Drama teacher for over a decade, teaching in Scotland, Italy and Ireland.
All his books to date have received critical acclaim. When Mr Dog Bites was shortlisted for the CILIP Carnegie Medal in 2015 and The Bombs That Brought Us Together won the Costa Children’s Book Award in 2016. In 2017, he co-authored verse novel We Come Apart with CILIP Carnegie Medal winner Sarah Crossan, which was described as a ‘contemporary Romeo & Juliet’.
His most recent work, The Weight of a Thousand Feathers, is a bold and tender novel about a young carer.
