Belinda McKeon
Born in Ireland, Belinda McKeon is an award-winning playwright and journalist, who worked as an arts writer for the Irish Times. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from Columbia and now lives in Brooklyn. Her first book, Solace, has been described by Colm Tóibín as ‘A novel of quiet power, filled with moments of carefully-told truth’. It follows the story of a young man who leaves his struggling rural Irish family to pursue a PhD in English Literature in the vibrant city of Dublin. But the hedonism and escapism of the capital doesn’t last for long… ‘An elegant, consuming and richly inspired novel. A superb debut. This one will last.’ Colum McCann.
