Yvonne Reddick’s Burning Season (2023 Laurel Prize winner, and Shortlisted for Scottish Poetry Book of the Year) is a vivid, piercing collection documenting personal grief against a backdrop of ecological loss and heartbreak. Shane Strachan’s collection, DWAMS, is at times humorous and brutal, exploring climate emergency, xenophobia, and Queer romance in North East Scotland. The writers discuss with Beth Cochrane how poetry can speak to the issues of our times.
