For The Observable Universe author Heather McCalden, who lost her parents to AIDS in the ‘90s, it’s by chronicling the history of the virus in tandem with the internet and ‘going viral’. For Strange Bodies author Tom de Freston, who experienced several miscarriages with his wife, the author Kiran Millwood Hargrave, art becomes the thread out of the labyrinth of grief.
