Back to Ours

When the sun goes (almost) down, the party really starts!

You spoke, we listened – and our famous Spiegeltent returns. Home to a full hearted, open throated and all-round good-time programme of late night events to round off your Festival day – or even kick off your Festival night – we’re thrilled to bring you a host of excellent shindigs.

Michael Pedersen’s Big Friendship Fandango brings the poet and raconteur together with BAFTA Best Comedy Writer awardee Jack Rooke (of Channel 4’s uproarious series Big Boys), smash-hit podcaster Blindboy Boatclub, and Greg McHugh (creator of the inimitable Gary: Tank Commander); beloved podcasts Weirdos Bookclub with comedians Sara Pascoe and Cariad Lloyd, and Caroline O’Donoghue’s Sentimental Garbage will both record live episodes on-site; we’ll explore the worlds of AfroFuturism; the fabulous Fern Brady graces our Spiegeltent stage; you can titillate your senses with steamy and erotic literature with Lucy Debussy, Sareeta Domingo, So Mayer and Hollie McNish; and we’ll stage a vibrant celebration of Queer Lit.

Festival favourites, the Fun Lovin’ Crime Writers band, will bring their unique groove, celebrity Fringe and Book Festival teams will go head-to-head in the Artists vs Clowns pub quiz, and a rollicking ceilidh will round off the whole Festival shebang.

So gather your pals, grab a glass of something cold, and head Back to Ours for late night Spiegeltent fun.
