Booker-shortlisted author Neel Mukherjee returns to the Festival with his first novel in seven years. Choice tells three interconnected stories: a publisher experiments with his lifestyle; an academic meets a stranger; and a family in rural India encounters a gift that wreaks havoc. Speaking with Alex Clark, Mukherjee reflects on how even the smallest decision forms a chain of cause and effect.
