Melissa Lucashenko: From Meanjin to Edenglassie
- Thu 22 Aug 13:30 - 14:30
- EFI Venue NW
Cancelled
Meanjin, the traditional place name of modern day Brisbane, was briefly known as Edenglassie, a portmanteau of Edinburgh and Glasgow. Melissa Lucashenko’s novel of the same name oscillates between 1800s Edenglassie and modern-day Brisbane, to examine the lives of the land’s Indigenous people then and now. This is a rare opportunity to hear from one of Australia’s great contemporary authors. In conversation with Tam Zimet.
Supported by the Australian Government through Creative Australia, its arts funding and advisory body.
