Linnea Axelsson & Melissa Lucashenko: Indigenous Voices
- Fri 23 Aug 13:15 - 14:15
- EFI Courtyard Theatre
Cancelled
Two Indigenous writers explore their novelistic worlds together. In Edenglassie, Melissa Lucashenko chronicles colonial unrest in 19th century Queensland, Australia, and the lives of young Indigenous people in the area now, while in Linnea Axelsson’s verse novel, Ædnan, two Sámi families are followed from the arrival of the Swedish in the 1910s until the present. Both are stories of separation, adaptation, and activism over generations. Chaired by Adele Patrick.
