Six years after her groundbreaking translation of Homer’s The Odyssey, Emily Wilson, Professor of Classical Studies at Pennsylvania University presents The Iliad: an epic poem that roars, clamours, and sings. This elegant translation draws out the physicality of the Trojan War, its propulsive emotional arc, and the complexities of each character. With Charlotte Higgins, Wilson reflects on why this ancient tale continues to speak across centuries.
