In our Close Reads series, join an animated discussion as an author introduces you to an iconic text that has shaped them. In today’s workshop, Mateo García Elizondo, author of Last Date in El Zapotal and grandson of Gabriel Garcia Márquez, unpacks Persian writer Sadegh Hedayat’s magnum opus, The Blind Owl, which follows a young grief-stricken pencase painter who begins having frenzied nightmares injected with the images he paints.
