Brigitte Baptiste is a leading biologist and environmentalist from Colombia, where she’s the President of the Universidad EAN in Bogotá. Nothing’s more Queer than nature, she says. From trees that switch gender, to female albatrosses who raise their young in same-sex partnerships, the natural word is more diverse than we’ve been led to believe. Celebrated internationally for her innovative research, Baptiste talks today about how looking through a Queer lens has prompted her to ask different questions noticing important patterns that have long been overlooked as anomalies. Hear her in conversation with Gemma Rolls-Bentley.
In partnership with Edinburgh Art Festival.
