Susanne Winnacker
It’s been 3 years, 1 month, 1 week and 6 days since Sherry and her family last saw daylight. But with her grandfather in the freezer, parents at each others throats and starvation setting in, things are getting desperate. It might be time to venture above the bunker… but is Sherry prepared for what awaits her on the surface?
Susanne Winnacker studied law before swapping the day job for a full time career as a writer. She lives with her husband, a dog and four rabbits in the Ruhrgebiet, Germany. The Other Life is her first novel for young adults. Its desolate dystopian vision of a future plagued by rabid cannibals, interspersed with beautifully articulated prose and true moments of humanity and hope, ensure it can sit comfortably on the bookshelf beside the likes of Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games and Patrick Ness’ Chaos Walking trilogy. This is one both teenagers and adults alike will enjoy getting their teeth in to!
