Irvine Welsh (2016 Event)
With The Blade Artist, Irvine Welsh returns to the vicious Trainspotting character who's emerged as the best reflection of our angry times. Robert Carlyle, who memorably played Begbie in the iconic movie, claims that 'small psychos are the best', and his characterisation is a case in point. In Irvine Welsh's latest novel, the hard-man has taken on a new persona as an artist in cosy California. In this event, filmed live at the 2016 Edinburgh International Book Festival, he discusses his work with Brian Taylor.
